Alive in Afghanistan (AiA) is a project of Fasila, Inc. In keeping with Fasila's focus on storytelling, AiA intends to raise the voices of Afghan journalists in rural districts of the country and place their stories alongside the more visible lives of urban Afghans. AiA is Afghan-first, our editorial line is directed by Afghans, with the support of others, not the other way around.
AiA intends to educate people throughout the world about the diverse cultures of Afghanistan and get to the root of decades of struggle and conflict that has gripped the country. Understanding is the first step toward finding a viable solution that will work for all Afghans.
Our goal is to provide a platform for Afghans whose voices are not heard, who despite everything, remain Alive in Afghanistan.
